• In Germany, the use of insignia of organizations that have been banned (such as the NSDAP/Nazi Party) is generally prohibited under paragraph 86a of the criminal code (StGB). However, according to the Federal Court of Justice ruling of 2007, symbols clearly expressing opposition to Nazism (like crossed-out swastikas) are legal.
• In Poland, Art. 256 of the criminal code (Dz.U. 1997 nr 88 poz. 553) prohibits the promotion of Nazi, Communist or other totalitarian regimes. However, the use of these symbols for artistic, educational, collecting or academic purposes – including the expression of anti-totalitarian views – is permitted by law.

Other countries (e.g. Austria, Brazil, Czech Republic, France, Georgia, Hungary, Indonesia, Latvia, Lithuania, Russia, South Korea, Ukraine) may have different regulations depending on the context. Users are responsible for ensuring that their use of this imagery complies with local laws.
