English: Destruction of the Vendôme Colonne during the Paris Commune, first suggested by Gustave Courbet. In the foreground the broken statue of Napoleon Bonaparte. The colonne will be later restored in place at Courbet's cost.
Français : La colonne Vendôme renversée durant la Commune de Paris, à la suggestion de Gustave Courbet. La statue est plus tard remise en place au frais de Courbet.
