PokerStars（中文又譯撲克之星，簡稱PS），是一個線上撲克平台，由星集團擁有，支援Windows, macOS, Android和iOS。 PokerStars.com的線上衛星賽讓2003年WSOP冠軍[1]Chris Moneymaker成名，因為他是首位通過線上平台晉身主賽圈的世界冠軍[2]。 Moneymaker的成名讓線上撲克一度成為大熱，直到美國政府於2009年禁止線上撲克。媒體稱之為Moneymaker效應[3]。
PS目前是全球最大的線上撲克平台，[4] 佔去全球線上撲克市場的2/3[5][6][7]。
歷史
[編輯]PokerStars於2001年9月11日推出了僅限遊戲貨幣的測試版網站。[8]該公司於2001年12月12日開始提供真錢投注。PokerStars 最初是一家哥斯達黎加公司 Rational Enterprises，隸屬於加拿大公司 The Stars Group，該公司由加拿大 Scheinberg 家族擁有多數股權。[9][10]該公司隨後遷至萌島道格拉斯。此舉是由建立 0% 的公司稅率以及取消禁止公司接受來自美國的賭場和撲克投注的規則推動的。[9]PokerStars撲克之星在其他司法管轄區擁有眾多牌照（參見下文的受監管市場）。
2012年2月，PokerStars獲得了馬耳他彩票和博彩委員會授予的歐盟許可證。[11]
2012年7月，PokerStars收購了其前競爭對手Full Tilt Poker。[12]這筆價值 7.31 億美元的交易解決了與司法部的民事訴訟，同時將 Full Tilt Poker 資產的所有權交給了撲克之星。[13]
2014年6月,The Stars Group（當時稱為 Amaya Inc）同意以49億美元現金收購PokerStars及其母公司。[14][15] 該交易於2014年8月1日完成。[16]
2017年2月，Microgaming 宣布與母公司旗下的PokerStars建立合作夥伴關係，以整合其 Quickfire 平台。[17]
2017年7月，PokerStars同意與破產管理人達成協議，在不重振品牌的情況下收購競爭對手PKR.com的部分資產，同時退還整個PKR 玩家群的全部賬戶餘額。[18]
