Background

I hold a B.Sc. in Information Technology and a college certificate in Computer Science and Chemistry Education. I have been an active contributor to Wikimedia projects since 2018 and became an organizer in 2021. In 2022, I co-founded the Wikimedia Fulfulde Community to promote knowledge sharing and free access to information in the Fulfulde language.

I am certified as a trainer by Wikimedia UK and have participated in multiple international capacity-building workshops organized by groups such as Art+Feminism, Wiki in Africa, Wikimania, Africa Wiki Women and Wikimedia User Group Nigeria. Outside the Wikimedia movement, I am a multiple award-winning writer, poet, and novelist.

Leadership, Organizing & Grants

• Serving as an organizer and facilitator since 2021.
• Co-founder of the Wikimedia Fulfulde Community (2022).
• Grant coordinator – successfully applied for and managed Wikimedia Foundation grants (Rapid Funds).
• Facilitated and coordinated over 20 Wikimedia projects, including edit-a-thons, training workshops, photowalks and community campaigns.
• Focus on capacity building, language preservation, and expanding knowledge equity for African languages.

Selected Works

• Organized and facilitated edit-a-thons and workshops across Nigeria to promote Fulfulde and other languages.
• Coordinated activities leading to the incubation and development of Karai-Karai Wikipedia, Fulfulde Wikivoyage, Fulfulde Wikitionary and Karai-karai Wikitionary.
• Led Wikimedia Fulfulde Community outreach in partnership with international campaigns such as Art+Feminism, Wiki In Africa and Wiki Loves Earth.
• Supported new editors and provided training resources in Fulfulde, Hausa, Naija Pidgin, and Karai-Karai.
• Published award-winning poetry and novels outside Wikimedia, bridging literature and free knowledge.
