HIST4H4为人体中的一种编码一类组蛋白H4的基因，化学式为C₄₉₄H₈₃₇N₁₆₃O₁₃₄S。HIST4H4没有内含子，编码组蛋白H4家族中的一种蛋白质。HIST4H4基因对应的mRNA缺乏Poly(A)尾巴。不过，这类mRNA有一个回文终止元件。
