临时账号功能现已推出
[编辑]维基媒体计划允许任何人进行编辑，无论是否建立帐号。在过去，未登入贡献者的编辑会被归属至其IP位址下。由于IP位址包含敏感资讯，可能会威胁到透过该地址连接的用户的私隐和安全，为了减轻用户私隐泄露的风险，维基媒体基金会决定引入临时帐号。只有部分有反破坏管理需求的用户可以访问临时帐号IP位址数据（即临时帐号IP查看者、管理员等）。
临时帐号的名称形如~2025-1234567（由英文半形波浪号、当前年份、一个自动生成的5-7位数字构成），用户不能选择或变更其临时帐号的名称。临时帐号会为未登入的编者自动建立，有效期为90天，其不能登入，也没有密码。自建立日期起经过90天之后，该临时帐号将自动过期，无法使用且无法取得讨论页信息，后续编辑会分配给新的临时帐号。旧帐号将被停止使用，无法保留或登入。临时帐号通过浏览器的Cookie，将同一装置和浏览器在不同IP位址下进行的编辑归属于同一临时帐号，与临时帐号相关联的IP位址将被隐藏。
如果您符合“临时帐号IP查看者”的资格要求，包括：已加入至少6个月且至少编辑300次；于反破坏中活跃，并且已有至少500次编辑，或是现任巡查员、回退员、傀儡调查助理、过滤器助理、过滤器编辑者。您可前往Wikipedia:权限申请/申请临时帐号IP查看权提出请求。

- 抽象维基百科（Abstract Wikipedia，暂译）命名征选第二轮投票落下帷幕，最终“Abstract Wikipedia”以100票胜出，第二名为“Wikigenerator”（91票）。此专案的名称正式定为“Abstract Wikipedia”。根据中文社群先前共识，此名称的暂译名为“抽象维基百科”。（Wikifunctions状态更新）。
- 姊妹专案工作组关于维基孢子（Wikispore，暂译）和维基新闻的谘询结果出炉。工作组得出的结论是：不应立即变更维基孢子的现行技术架构；应归档维基新闻的所有语言版本。
- Wikimedia Enterprise公布其2025年度报告。报告着重探讨维基媒体如何通过该机构完成转变并保持活力。
